Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) Leadership Conference

On Thursday, August 23, 2018, Marshall Fundamental students Melodie Ahn, Toros Margaryan, and Arianah Rizzo presented at the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) Leadership Conference during the Breakout Session on Students Take Civic Action.
As an extension of Marshall Fundamental's Annual Innovation Project; 2016 on Drought, 2017 on Transportation, and 2018 on Waste Management, these students are extending the discussion of their research in these areas. Melodie, as the primary speaker for Marshall, presented her topic of Bus Stops from the Transportation Project. However, both Toros and Arianah were invited to the podium to give accounts of their past projects. These students were well poised, articulate, and passionate about their research and their projects.
Overall, this was another opportunity for our students to showcase their ideas, learn from others, engage deeper, and promote civic education while posturing themselves as active contributors to democracy.
