2021 - Economics

November 15th through November 19th is Innovation week at Marshall Fundamental Secondary School. This year’s theme is Economics. During Innovation Week, students will work on project approaches, identifying a problem and proposing a solution to economic issues within the local, community, state, or from a broader world economic perspective.
From Tuesday through Friday, the Innovation class period is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. - 10:04 a.m. where students will report to their 4th-period class, and work in groups facilitated by their 4th-period teacher. 6th-grade students will work with their core academic teacher. Students will continue their day attending their 1st through 6th periods based on the Monday schedule.
On Friday, students will submit a written report and do an oral presentation on their project. Students dress in business attire for their presentations. Students can use this work as one of their artifacts for their graduate defense when they are seniors.
Teachers will select the top projects from each class and students will present their work to a panel of esteemed professionals. This is Marshall Fundamental’s 5th year, providing this opportunity to our students to incorporate their learning from multiple disciplines into a single project aligned to industry expectations. Previous Innovation topics: Drought, Transportation, Waste Management, Housing, and Health.
