Community Partners
Marshall’s affiliation with a number of community foundations allows students a variety of opportunities.
- The Pasadena Educational Foundation (PEF) awards grants every year to teachers who submit proposals for field trips, funding for classroom materials, and requests to attend conferences on topics related to instruction.
- Marshall students participate in meetings held by the Pasadena City Planning Commission and are responsible for eliciting student feedback about urban planning.
- Through the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) program, high school students meet twice a month with mentors in those fields in order to receive career encouragement and learn about scholarship opportunities.
- Upward Bound Cal State LA - is a college preparatory program that provides eligible high school students rigorous academic support and guidance toward post-secondary education.
- Upward Bound PCC - strives to give students from first-generation, low-income backgrounds the tools and the opportunity to attend college. Provides mentoring, tutoring, intervention, and college trips for high school students.
- UCLA Early Academic Outreach Program (EAOP), which is offered through UCLA, offers SAT and ACT prep courses and help with college entrance requirements.
- Caltech’s RISE program (Reaffirming and Increasing Scholastic Endeavors) offers math and science tutoring to high school students.
- Pasadena's Police Activities League (PAL) program assists students in developing leadership, teamwork, and homework and study skills.
